Did you know that protein is the only thing that can build muscle? You can take all the creatine, andros and HMBs you want, but if you are not getting enough good protein, you are wasting your time and money. A high quality protein is absolutely essential for muscle growth. You need about 1 to1.5 gr per lb of lean muscle mass per day. For instance, if you weight 200 lbs with 10% body fat, your lean muscle mass is 180lbs. Multiply this by 1 to 1.5 and you end up with 180 to 270 gr of protein per day. A high quality protein source is an excellent whey to get the added protein you need. It would be almost next to impossible to try and eat 270 gr of protein from food sources alone. A protein powder or bar can provide 20-50 gr of protein with little or no carbs and fat. Whey protein has the highest biological value of any protein source ( which means more is absorbed by the body), is low in lactose and fat,and can be mixed with a spoon. Most are enriched with amino acids and vitamins. It is by far the best protein source. Most are a blend of whey isolates and whey concentrates. All the proteins we sell are of the highest quality. Other protein sources like Pro-Blend 55, Met-Rx and EAS Myoplex combine egg, milk and whey protein in their protein powders. The reason is cost. Other protein sources are released in the body at a slower rate. They call this time released protein. Egg and milk proteins usually have to be mixed with a blender. Bars are an excellent "on the go" snack. Cost is anywhere from 1.50 to 2.25 per bar. They are alot better than a candy bar or cookie.
